“Our 13th annual Best of the Best awards dinner far exceeded any of our previous events by any measure,” Walker said. “We hoped moving the event to a larger space within the Grandview Ballroom would help boost attendance, but the turnout surpassed even our most lofty expectations. All the feedback I received from attendees was highly positive.”

"A staple among the Boone Mall business community for going on three years, Mane Habit Salon has established itself as one of the most trusted salons in the High Country. Owned and operated by Jezabel LeBatard, Mane Habit works within the mission of helping people discover the beauty within themselves. Since opening the doors, the staff has grown from a team of three to now eight stylists and two front desk staff, striving daily to provide consistent results for customers, while creating a positive and relaxing experience.
Like every salon in the State, Mane Habit was dealt numerous operational hurdles as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon reopening, the staff excelled on communicating expectations to customers and followed through in developing an environment that prioritized safety for clients and employees alike."

"The salon was opened in April 2019 by Jezabel Lebatard, who previously said the salon fulfilled her longtime dream of providing quality hair experiences and growing the next generation of hairstylists.
“Lebatard has served the hair industry for over 10 years, and was awarded ‘Best Cosmetologist in Watauga County’ in 2017 and 2018, and was runner up as ‘Best Salon in Watauga County’ in 2019,” a statement from Mane Habit Salon stated. “(Lebatard’s) salon serves hundreds of clients each year, and she hopes to continue to grow her team and serve more people in the Boone community. Lebatard has served around 100 free haircuts for kids combined over the last three years at the Back 2 School Festival and has been involved in numerous cut-a-thons for the Boone community.”
